Mt. Jefferson Mortgage
is a privately
owned, family operated mortgage company. The founder, Joseph D.
Duvall, Sr., has over 35 years experience helping people purchase homes
through the North Carolina Rural Development Agency. He founded Mt.
Jefferson Mortgage in the year 2000.
Joe's career began with what was then known as Farmers Home
Administration. He quickly advanced in the agency to the position of
District Director and at the climax of his career he supervised over 55
employees, all of whom were making loans to hundreds of families and
individuals trying to purchase a home.
In 1987, Mr. Duvall was named FHA's District Director of the Year.
In 1988, the Secretary of Agriculture recognized Mr. Duvall for his
excellence at the nation's capital with a Distinguished Service Award.
Joe is currently a registered mortgage broker in the state of North
Carolina.
Mt. Jefferson Mortgage was founded after Joe retired
from the government agency and expanded his expertise to the private
sector. Joseph's wife Sharon joined him at that time as a co-founder and
business partner. Their son, Joseph Duvall, Jr. (Jody) joined the
company in 2002.

the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks.
The office is based
in Jefferson, NC and mainly serves the Western North Carolina Mountain
counties of Ashe, Alleghany, Wilkes and Watauga. We can make
loans, however, anywhere in North Carolina.
